clayArt Studios' Instructor
Nilu, a Toronto-based Persian artist, began her journey in ceramics at clayArt Studios. She initially took an 8-week course as a way to feel closer with her grandfather, a world renowned potter based in the Middle East. Soon after taking her first class, she had realized she had found her passion.
Her pieces are one of a kind and incorporate both wheel thrown and hand building techniques. She was featured in the June 2021 edition of Wandering Autumn, a Canadian arts magazine, where she shared her story behind the inspiration of her favourite collection, “The Future is Female”.
Nilu is always researching new ways to create, and is a strong believer that pottery is an art in which you never stop learning. She is excited to continue to build on her skills, while sharing her knowledge of ceramics with those who want to explore the incredible world of clay.
