clayArt Studios' Assistant Technician
Sue’s interest in pottery began on a work trip to China where she instantly fell in love with wheel throwing.
Since then, she studied ceramics at the Gardiner, Clay Design, and clayArt Studios in Toronto. Sue’s work is inspired by both ancient and contemporary styles; her work is influenced by Japanese Minge, Chinese decorative painting, and pattern making. Sue primarily makes tactile, functional pottery for everyday use.
When she’s not at the pottery studio she is a Senior Marketing Manager at Ergeon - a tech-enabled home improvement company. Sue also supports the brush calligraphy and print art community by volunteering as a committee member for Shodo Canada and as a board member at Open Studio.
